INTRODUCTION
We painstakingly selected our speakers for this conference due to the relevance of the topic in today’s economic & socio-political landscape of the country.
Recall that in 2020, alleged hoodlums disrupted peaceful protests organized by young Nigerians who were exercising their civic right to demand an end to Police brutality and bad governance. The disruption led to looting, loss of lives, properties and means of livelihood for many Nigerians. As an organization, we see a policy gap and opportunity to discuss important issues affecting young people in Nigeria. For example. if the hoodlums are gainfully employed, they would be more useful to the country than staging disruptions. Hence, the need to discuss the modalities of youth empowerment programmes in Nigeria.
OBJECTIVES OF THE CONFERENCE
1. To develop participants’ social and developmental skills that will enhance economic development in Nigeria.
2.To instill the sense of self belief and self-control in the minds of the participants.
3. To help improve the decision-making skills and soft skills of the participants
4. Develop a communiqué to advise the government on new approaches to youth empowerment
